Numbers make the world go round.  Without numbers, life would be unmeasurable, unordered, unlivable. To show my appreciation for numbers, each Monday, I’ll post a picture of numbers.  I know this must excite one and all!

Today’s numbers:  Baseball statistics.  I especially like this picture because it is a picture of the scoreboard on opening day.  This was the bottom of the 1st inning at the Rockies home opener in 2011 — everyone had a batting average of 0 (since no one had batted).  A clean slate.  Don’t we all need a clean slate at times?  A chance to start over?  A chance to step up to the home plate of life and hit one out of the park?  Put me in coach, I’m ready to play. My at-bat song is playing!

And on this opening day on April 1, 2011, it really was a new beginning.  My grandson was born.  His stats:  6 pounds 9 ounces, 21 1/2 inches.
